Keizoku (J-Drama) (TV) (1999): Very Interesting Starting, Horrible Ending (6/10)

What started as a funny and incredibly interesting detective story, ended as one of the worst I have ever seen. The series consists of 11 TV episodes, 1 special and ends with a Movie. The story started to get strange with the Asakura ark around episode 8. The series ended so so. Special was acceptable too. But I have no idea what they were thinking with that strange movie. I can't make heads or tail of it. It was utterly stupid.

The story revolves around the protagonist Shibata, a brilliant intern detective who is at the same time a little bit air headed. Shibata starts her intern in Section - 2, which is in charge of unsolved cases. I think the word Keizoku also means "Unsolved Cases". The junk yard of police files and the staff are also seen as useless even among the department. But Shibata changes the status when she solves multiple cases.

The story started to turn into crap when the super villain Asakura was introduced. Well, actually he was present from episode 1, but the story started to revolve around him at the later end of the TV series and continued till the ending movie. When the story was progressing with interesting twists and good detective work, suddenly Asakura appears as a Hypnotism expert villain. With that, the charm of the series died. At the end, it totally killed off the series in the Movie.

I give it a 6/10 rating just because of the first few good episodes. If i'm to consider the movie, the rating will drop to 4/10.
